Why Visit an Audiologist?

Diagnosing Hearing Loss: Regular visits to an audiologist are essential for diagnosing hearing loss and taking proactive steps to prevent its progression. Hearing plays a vital role in maintaining mental and emotional well-being, especially as we age. Impaired hearing can significantly affect our ability to engage in social interactions, diminishing our enjoyment of daily life. By consulting with a hearing doctor, you can address potential issues early, implement preventative measures, and ensure that your hearing health supports your long-term wellness.

Finding The Right Hearing Aids: If you are facing hearing loss, a hearing doctor can help you find the right hearing aids for your specific needs and budget. If you already have hearing aids an audiologist can continually provide hearing tests to check their effectiveness and adjust settings for optimal performance.

Treating Many Ear Conditions: The ears have a great deal of influence over your balance. Specifically, the inner ear contains fluid-filled canals that communicate with the brain to monitor changes in your body’s positioning. When this system is disrupted, conditions such as vertigo, vestibular neuritis, or other balance-related issues can arise. Audiologists are highly trained professionals equipped to perform hearing tests to determine the underlying cause of symptoms like dizziness. Don’t hesitate to visit a hearing doctor for accurate diagnosis and effective management of these conditions.

Offering Routine Hearing Tests

At The Audiology Center, we offer a variety of hearing tests and auditory processing assessments. We provide reports following your test that will include specific recommendations for the most appropriate follow-up care. Regular screenings from our audiologist doctors help ensure your hearing is sharp. Patients between the ages of 18 and 40 who are not experiencing hearing loss should have a hearing test every 3 to 5 years while patients over the age of 60 should have a test every year. Patients who are regularly exposed to loud noises should also get a hearing test every year.

We offer Phonak and Oticon hearing aids to our patients who need assistance with hearing. We make sure the hearing aids are properly fitted. If you have questions about hearing tests or hearing aid costs, contact our office today!
